Kerferd Rd. door
November 2014
An impressive big black door commission came through Fido Projects who where renovating a house in Kerferd Rd. Albert Park. The reno designed by owner architect Alan Synman, (founder of SJB Architects), included this vast 2.2 metre x 2.7 metre high sliding screen door. The fabrication required some very precise joinery and a well thought out production sequence to achieve the design aesthetic and high mm tolerances required to slide seamlessly from closed to open.

Moving my workshop
May 2014
After more than 14 years in 2 great studio workshops in Brunswick, its time to move north to a larger factory space in Reservoir. Brunswick friends, collaborators and accomplices will never be far away and a whole new posse of contacts is emerging. The new factory, I’m sharing with Will Goodsir, is well set up for all aspects of furniture making and prototyping and has abundant space for larger landscape furniture projects. Please feel free to drop me a line and arrange a visit to my new workspace at No. 5 Parer Street Reservoir.

Black Butt recycled timber dining table
February 2012
Making a large dining table of this size is like building a bridge! The frame of this 3.5 metre long x 1.3 metre wide dining table, with square frame ‘sleigh’ legs at each end required some serious structural design. The double central rails with spreaders ensure a solid table that doesn’t sag under the heavy weight of such a vast top. This grand table provides for ample space without being an overbearing element within its home.
